The pineapple and cheese hedgehog – no party should be without one of those. I hope you make them with the children, I think these are cakes that children love to make but with all those decorations perhaps cakes only small children want to eat – other than my husband of course who polished off a couple from batch number two that we made yesterday. The sausage and cabbage cake will become a regular I think, it was even better reheated for lunch the next day.

I love the ides of your little one walking around with the book….I was once so taken with a picture of a table of party food (we are talking 1979 here so it was all pineapple and cheese hedgehog and tecniclour sandwiches) I pinned it above my bed.
I often cook with the children I teach so this is a wonderful recipe to have, they look quite delightful.
I love that you made the sausage and cabbage cake !!!

You are so kind. Mercifully, this sort of thing is still really rare (whatever the Daily Mail might have us think!), we were unlucky in that it happened, but very lucky and very grateful that it wasn’t worse. Have a lovely weekend.

Do you know last night I kept thinking about how awful that must have been for you and the cheek of the person to actually raid your bedroom whilst you were in there sleeping!! I do hope things settle down for you very quickly and that you get all the insurance claims sorted without too much hassle.
